About
            Me

My creation combines many types of materials on a canvas to express myself through past or present memories. I make my work for myself to explore my own self-identity, experiences, and emotions. In the future, I intend to share my work with others in the hopes of inspiring those who may feel connected to my work.

The paintbrush and my fingers are my main tools for painting but I also use other unconventional accessible tools to help me create the textures I want. The materials I use for painting are oil, acrylic and mixed media. I choose an abstract or concrete painting style based on the atmosphere that I want to present at the time. In a self-portrait named Mirror, in my Diary series, I tried to use a palette of dark and contrasting colors to create a serious and depressing atmosphere. In my abstract painting, It's Bedtime Now, I used geometric shapes to create the last scene I see before I fall asleep. The dark and cold colors are describing my wakefulness and security at that time.

My creation has been influenced by Yayoi Kusama's life story and works. Her "symbiosis" with her psychological plight prompted me to release my pressure by painting and start to create my "diary" through painting. The Diary series is my emotional record. Whenever I feel depressed, anxious, warm, or grateful, I want to express it through painting or collage, so that I can feel healed and satisfied. I am trying to become an artist who can influence my audience and just like how Kusama encourages and inspires me. Moreover, I want to give people with depression more opportunities to know that someone understands them, that they are loved, and that the world is worth exploring.
